Thank You for the Personalized Physical Therapy! (A Note from Patient Hal S.)

Over the past six months, I have been an outpatient at Barrow’s NeuroSpine & Rehabilitation Center under the expert care of Eric Loiland and his capable staff of physical therapists.

I was referred to Barrow’s NeuroSpine & Rehabilitation Center in June of 2016, following spinal decompression and laminectomy surgery by Dr. Randall Porter, a compassionate, highly skilled and world class neurosurgeon at Barrow Neurological Institute. This major back surgery totally corrected spinal stenosis of my lower back, including narrowing of the spinal canal which constricted the nerves and spinal cord causing a debilitating and painful disease affecting my ability to walk.

Following a short post-surgery recovery time, Eric Loiland and his physical therapy staff designed a personalized physical therapy program and led me through a six-month process of recovery and rehabilitation with a caring and skilled understanding of my limitations and needs. They provided the encouragement and motivation for me to meet my goals. Together, we set reasonable expectations that kept me pressing forward, progressing in strength, balance and flexibility. I am thankful for the kindhearted care, skill and oversight that Barrow provided in my total physical recovery. I thank God for Eric Loiland and his staff for all they did in helping me to return to an active life stronger than ever and pain free.

If I were to ever need again a neurological specialist or physical therapist, I would not hesitate to return to the capable and skilled doctors and staff at Barrow’s NeuroSpine & Rehabilitation Center.
